Semester 1 Project

1st Semester Project: Aeneid Book I Review

For this project, everyone will be assigned approximately 64 contiguous lines from Book I. From these lines, your job will be to create a “storyboard”. You need at least 5 visual representations of the action in the lines, in order, with the Latin lines represented below the respective picture. Additionally, to help us review, include strategically placed Latin words or phrases from the lines on the picture itself to “explain” each visual. Use as many words/phrases as you can, minimum 15 for each picture.

You may use any means available to create your visual, as long as each one is not much larger than 11 x 17”, and we can physically affix them to our classroom wall. Collages, drawings, paintings, computer-created pictures, and the like are acceptable; however, you may only use two paintings/drawings already created by artists of the scenes in your text as your visuals. Be careful of these - usually, the artist does not include all the details that Vergil gives us, and sometimes he or she even changes things!

The grading scale is as follows (Test Grade):

Visual represents the Latin lines included below the visual as fully as possible: 8 points

15 Latin words within the visual that are correctly placed: 8 points

Visual is neat, creative (effort was applied!): 4 points

TOTAL = 20 points
x 5 visuals = 100 points

Chunks:
1-63: Chase
64-130: Anna
131-194: Aaron
195-256: Lindsey
257-324: Ally
325-389: Blair
390-458: Katherine
459-519: Lauren
